Standing Christmas Place Cards

Hello crafty friends, It’s Joy here. Last week I created place cards for your Thanksgiving table, so I thought I would keep with that theme this week and do standing Christmas place cards using the Winter Cardinals stamp and die. I think anyone would love to find these in their spot at the dinner table. I hope you enjoy!

I started by stamping my images on watercolor cardstock with black ink. I used Zig markers to color in the cute little Cardinals. Now I know that they are red but, I decided to make them blue. I used Persian Blue and Cobalt Blue for the birds. Then for the scarfs I used Deep Green, Light Green, Geranium Red, and Light Gray ( for the white areas). I used Light Pink for the cheeks and Bright Yellow for the beak and feet. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out.

I die cut three circles from the Stitched Circle dies in white cardstock, then used the Mask It Circle with Cherry ink (SSS) and stenciled the circle. I trimmed a small piece of cardstock about 2″ x 5″ and scored and folded it in half (long side). This is the piece that will go behind the circle and make the place card stand up. I attached that to the backs of the circle and then trimmed the bottom of the circle off.

I stamped and gold heat embossing the sentiments and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I adhered those on the bottom, the adhered the birds with foam tape for dimension. I added some snowflake sequins from my stash to finish off the place cards.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this project. Have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Joy Baldwin
