Everything’s Coming up Roses!

Hello Pink and Main friends. I hope you are staying safe and well. It’s Donna here, and I have another sneak peek for you of the Rose Garden Set stencils. This beautiful set of three stencils can be used as a set or individually to make the most gorgeous patterned papers.

And it looks like the Ergonomic Blending brush has a new little friend! This Mini Ergonomic Blending brush was perfect for getting into the little nooks and crannies of these stencils. I’ve chosen to use a light hand with my blending and try for some variation in depth of colour, but heavier blending would give a lovely bold effect.

I’ve done cards in two different colourways. The first card uses analogous colors; those colors that sit near each other on the colour wheel. I chose blues and greens for this card.

The sentiment for this card comes from two different stamp sets. The ‘Hello Friend’ is from the Summer Sloths stamp set. This sentiment runs in a straight line in the original stamp set, but I carefully cut the words apart and lined them up above and below each other. The longer strip sentiment comes from the Spring Sentiments stamp set. I heat embossed both sentiments in white, and placed some of the blue paper behind the strip to help the vellum sentiment stand out.

The second card uses a colour triangle, so the colors are very high contrast. I also added a piece of white card that I’d cut using one of the dies in the Layered Strip Dies. I used the same sentiment as the previous card. The sentiments for both cards were cut out using the Layered Circle Dies, which have a wonderful selection of circles to choose from.

These stencils lined up easily with the small notches that are on each stencil, and were so easy to blend. I’ve got my next card using them already sketched out ready to go!! I just have to decide whether to use the roses, or the Hibiscus set of stencils. The Rose Garden stencil and the mini blending brush will be released on the 20th, so there’s not long to wait now!

Until next time, may everything come up roses for you!

Blessings,

Donna
