Sneak Peek- The Sweetest Elf Christmas Tag

Hi friends, this is Caitlin and I am so excited to share a sneak peek of the new Shaker Tag Die Set. I am so in love with this die set because it can be used to make a shaker tag or a regular tag. I love a shaker element in general and it doesn’t matter if it’s on a card or a tag so I knew I had to make one as soon as I saw this set.

I started out by cutting both layers of the shaker tag die set with different patterns from the new Merry & Bright 6×6 paper pad. I love the color combinations in this pad and how they can be used for more than just the holiday season. I also cut a scrap of the blue/white dots with the circle bits die and set them aside in a little bowl so I wouldn’t lose them. I trimmed down a piece of leftover stamp packaging to be just a bit bigger than the rectangle shaker window and added it to the back of the die cut with EZ Squeeze Glue

I cut a few pieces of foam tape from the roll and then cut them in half lengthwise. I added them around the window, creating a well for the shaker and then I swiped around the inside of the well with the Magic Anti Static Powder Brush to help with static. You don’t need a lot of powder and if you add too much, it will make your shaker cloudy. Then I removed the backer tape from the foam and  added the paper circles and some confetti sequins to the middle. I made sure the paper circles were all upside down in the well so that when the tag is finished, they will all be right side up. I lined up the solid tag and pressed down firmly to ensure that the whole thing is solid.

Then I stamped out the little hot cocoa elf image from the Oh My Garland Stamp Set and colored it with Copic Sketch Markers. I stamped out the small Holly Jolly Holidays sentiment with Barbershop Ink and used the coordinating dies to cut out the image and words. I added then both to the front of the tag with more liquid glue and gave it a few minutes to dry. I added some twine to the top of the tag and that wrapped up with super cute project. I loved making this tag so much that I made a fall themed one Live with Pink and Main yesterday – you can watch the replay here if you want to see how it went!
