Sneak Peek – Flowers for a Friend

Hi friends, this is Caitlin and I am so happy to be back with a new sneak peek for you. We have a new release coming out on Friday and it is full of beautiful spring vibes. I wanted to use the new Song Bird Layered Stencils but I wanted the finished product to be soft so I stamped the Songbird image with Asphalt Ink onto a piece of printer paper and then stamped it onto Ice Rink Card Stock for a second generation stamping. This gave a much softer outline but I was still able to easily line up the stencils for ink blending.

I used Night Sky, Dress Shop, The Park and Lakeview Inks with the layered stencils to create this fun floral image. I stamped some of the Night Sky Ink onto an acrylic block, added some water to it and used a small brush to splatter little ink spots all over the panel. I used the smaller rectangle from the Layered Scallops A2 Rectangle Die set to cut out part of the image and used the corresponding scallop die to cut two layers from the green watercolor pattern paper from the You’re a Blessing 6×6 Pad. I layered these all up and glued them together with EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue.

I trimmed the pink watercolor pattern from the same paper pad down to fit an A2 card (5.5 in x 4.25 in) and trimmed some Ice Rink Card Stock to 5.25 in x 4 in to add on top. I repeated the splatter steps with the Dress Shop Ink onto the white card stock before adding the scalloped/floral panel to it all. I borrowed the Hey Friend Die Cut from the Wide Stitched Arches Dies and cut it from both plain Ice Rink Card Stock and a scrap that I had inked with Night Sky and Dress Shop Inks. I stacked them offset so that the darker layer would peek out and then added it to the bottom left corner of the floral panel. The last step was to add some sparkles with pink glitter enamel dots in the center of the flowers.

I can’t wait to see what you all make with the new products and if you want to see even more sneaks, come hang out with me live tomorrow, Thursday 2/15 at 8:30pm eastern on Pink and Main’s YouTube Channel.
