Sending Bunches of Love Your Way

Happy Wednesday! This is Caitlin from CaitlinAnnaleeCards and today I am sharing a really soft and simple (for me anyway) love card. I do appreciate a good Valentine’s card but I think its amazing when you can make a love card that can be for anytime or in this case, anyone. This whole card idea started when I saw the Garden Gate Embossing Folder, I adore the design of this folder and I think the whole pattern is amazing and a lovely way to add a ton of interest. I wanted to make sure that the rest of my design didn’t overpower the cool background and so I knew I needed one good feature image. I have been dying to use the Pretty Jars Stamp Set and so I paired the floral bouquet and the taller jar.

To make these two stamps look like one single die cut, I stamped each piece on their own and then I stamped the stems inside the jar. I used an alcohol ink safe pen to extend the stem lines further down the jar, I wasn’t concerned about meeting point of the stamped lines and the pen lines because I knew I could cover it with the sentiment strip. I used Copic Markers to color in the flowers and the jar and then die cut everything out with the coordinating die set. I trimmed away the top, open part of the jar with scissors and glued the bouquet onto the back of the jar so that the lines matched up on both floral stamps, this created a really continuous feel to the whole piece.

To finish up, I trimmed my cream embossed background panel to 5 in x 3.75 in and centered it on a standard A2 sized kraft panel. I used the EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue to adhere the stamped image die cut to the card and then glued the sentiment strip right over those flower stems. I couldn’t resist adding in a little glitz so I added one teeny tiny off-white pearl from the Essential Pearls to each side of the sentiment. I am so in love with how this card turned out and I think it would definitely make the recipient smile!
