Pineapple Express

Happy Tuesday friends! Katie here today and I have a fun two-fer for you! I was inspired to make this one by doing a black and white colored image and then, I got excited to do the opposite of that as well. You will see what I mean shortly.

This was the image that inspired it all. For some reason, knowing this would typically be vibrant, I thought it would be fun to color it in black and white, so I did!

This image is from the Tropical Pineapple Stamp set, colored with Copics (C7, C5, C3, C1, C0, T6) and cut out with the Tropical Pineapple Coordinating Die. Once I had the image, I was excited to do the next one in color and that inspired the card designs. But… before I get to that, let me tell you what else this card has on it, the other card features mostly the same elements.

I used the Double Stitch Dome Dies for the half circle, this one in new Asphalt Cardstock (the other in white). The circle is mounted using the EZ Tear Tape, onto the Watercolor Rainbow Paper Pack, on top of that is the image popped up using foam tape. This DP layer is cut to 4 X 5.25 and placed on more Asphalt Cardstock. I cut the Hello from the Hello Sunshine Word Dies, then used my Mini Ergo Brush to add white ink to the bottom of the sentiment and popped it up with more foam tape. I wanted a little more pop of black in this one, so I used the Pandamonium Enamel Dots as a finishing Touch.

You can see how this one is different, it has a very 80’s vibe, LOL. I think that is because of the black and white DP pattern, which uses the new Black and White Paper Pack. For this one, I stamped on water color paper and colored the image with Zigs before cutting it out. Everything else is pretty much the same, though you can see I cut the letters in yellow and then added some Persimmon Distress Oxide using my Mini Ergo Brush.

Here is a shot of them both together.

I really love the contrast from these, they are quite fun! Shout out to my DT Teamie Annette, for some reason the colorful one makes me think of all her fabulous and bright creations! She is so fun.

Well, thank you for visiting. I hope you enjoyed this post. Please check out some of these fun products in the shop, hit up our IG, YT, and FB page for more inspiration and sharing.

Have a great Tuesday! ~Katie
