Guest Designer Laura Volpes

Hi everyone! It’s Laura Volpes, and today I am really thrilled to be a guest here on the Pink and Main blog, with two cards created with products from the fabulous July release! The cards are very different from each other, yet they have one thing in common…some small touches to make them personal and unique. Can you tell what they are? Let’s find out!

For card number one I did some no-line coloring of three of the images in the adorable Supersized stamp set. I decided to add some happy faces to the images using stamps in the set, because cute stamps with little faces are even cuter!
After I was done coloring, I added some white gel pen detail and die cut the images with the coordinating dies.

I then die cut some watercolor cardstock by Ranger with the Postage Dies and created a quick, yet fun background with Nuvo Shimmer Powders in the color Solar Flare.

I stamped my sentiment and glued everything on a red card base, raising the images on some foam squares…and then it was time to add my personal touch to this card: some stitching detail around the base with a white gel pen!

This is just a small detail, but I feel it completes the card and makes it even more unique. I love my gel pens and I use them on most of my cards!

For card number two I used Toucan Do It stamps and the Floral Mail dies.
I used the die to cut some Neenah Solar White cardstock and created an inlay die cutting effect, where I colored the die cuts with my Spectrum Noir markers.

I then stamped and colored the chameleon and the gecko in the Toucan Do It set. I used again my Spectrum Noir Markers and, once the coloring was done, I die cut them with the coordinating dies.

I stamped the leaves in the same stamp set with green inks of different darkness, because I wanted to create a visual frame for my focal point. I stamped the sentiment and then added a personal touch to the card, by creating an actual black frame all around the card front. In order to get a precise result, I used a T-Square ruler and my Faber Castell Black Pitt pens and marker.

And that’s it for today! I really hope you like today’s inspiration and enjoyed these very simple tips to add some personal details to your cards. If you want, you can pay me a visit over at my blog, I would love to see you there!
A big thanks to Pink and Main for the opportunity be a guest here today, and to you all for stopping by! Have a great day,
