Floral Background Card

Hello, friends! Welcome back to the P&M blog. Laurie with you this morning to share, what I think, is a very elegant card. It involves one of my favourite techniques which is heat embossing over Copic marker colouring. The look of this technique is stunning and I was dying to try it on the Floral Background Stamp!

I started by stamping the Floral Background Stamp onto a piece of copic-friendly cardstock using my Misti. I used a very light, copic safe ink. You can use almost any colour because it’s going to be covered up by the embossing powder.

Next, I chose a variety of markers to colour in one section of the stamp.

You can see here that my colouring is far from perfect! That’s ok! We’re now going to pop the panel back in the Misti and restamp using Versamark Ink or any embossing ink.

I chose gold embossing powder for this project.

After the embossing is done, you can see all the details have been added back in and makes your colouring look perfect!! I ended up fussy cutting around the coloured section.

I stamped the background stamp in the same, light ink onto a piece of ivory cardstock cut with the second largest of the Stitched Rectangles Set 2 Dies. I adhered that directly onto an ivory cardbase, lined up the coloured image and mounted that with foam adhesive.

The sentiment comes from the Just Because Stamp Set and was cut using one the Sentiment Strip Dies. I apologize for how hard it is to see the gold embossed sentiment!

And that’s it for me today! I hope you enjoyed my card and maybe got a few tips!

See you soon!

Laurie
