Father’s Day Card!

Hello, friends and welcome!! Laurie with you today to share the card I will give to my dad this Father’s Day. This card was quite simple to make and involves layering stencils!

You can see in the background how many stencils I used but the star of the show is the Mask It Hexagon Stencil. I started by placing the large, negative portion of the stencil onto an A4 piece of white cardstock. I tried to centre the opening as best as I could. But I knew I was going to use one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies Set 2 to trim it down, so if it wasn’t completely centred, that was ok.

I inked over the hexagon with a light blue ink, cleaned it off, and shifted it to the next position. I tried to keep the same amount of distance between each hexagon. I alternated the shades of blue and yellow.

Next, I chose the following stencils: Garden Gate, Herringbone, Petite Petals and Puffy Heart. I lined up the Hexagon Stencil over each ink blended portion then laid another stencil over top. Using the co-ordinating ink colour, I used a bit more pressure and added the colour. I just love the look of this!

I die cut the word “dad” using the Thin Alpha Dies. I die cut each letter 4 times from white cardstock and adhered them together. I decided they were a bit too stark so I took whatever was left on my yellow inking tool and added some colour to the bottom of each letter. I adhered them to the centre hexagon.

The sub sentiment comes from the Special Day Stamp Set and was stamped onto one of the Sentiment Strip Dies using the navy ink used in the blending.

Because my dad doesn’t really appreciate sequins, I decided to use a few of the Stitched Star Dies for embellishments. The small stars along with the “dad” was covered with some glitter pen and a generous helping of Nuvo Crystal Glaze because masculine or not, every card needs some shine!!

NOTE: Did you know that the new release is now available?! That’s right! There are a TON of new goodies:)

Thanks for dropping by this morning! Have a great day and see you soon!

Laurie
