Create your own paper with repeated images

STOP PRESS! Did you see that Pink and main is having a Memorial Day Weekend sale? There are many many items on sale, often at half price or less, and there will be some freebies given away over the course of the sale. You can find the sale items here at Pink and Main. Ok, back to the regular transmission!

Hello hello! It’s a humid Sunday here in Tokyo – Summer is starting to show it’s face. Have a fun card to share with you today that uses repeated patterns to make a decorated paper panel. (It’s 80lb cardstock actually) Today’s images come from the fun Tiki Time Stamp Set, with just three images used.

I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is alcohol ink friendly before colouring everything wth my Copic markers. I used repeated colours, so that the images would be in more of a pattern. The shading was very simple, with only two colours used in most cases.

The sentiment comes from a stamp set called Sunshine days. I wanted background for the sentiment, which comes with a matching die for the words. The way I achieved this was to trace around the outside of the word die with a pencil and then cut this with my scissors. I popped this up with foam tape, and added a background deep green sheet to frame the card.

It’s nice to have this sort of colouring projects sometimes, where you make the colour choices once, and then can relax into the colouring! I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend. I look forward to sharing with you again next week! Until next time, may you have lots of flowers in your days, and lizards only if you’d like them!

Blessings

Donna
