A Magical Christmas Card

Hi friends, this is Caitlin and today I am sharing a fun and magical/whimsical Christmas card. I love adding in non traditional colors or elements into my holiday cards and this time I decided it was going to be the sweet unicorn from the Cute Peekers Stamp Set. I didn’t realize when I first saw the Holiday Peekers Places Stamp Set, that it was meant to be an add one set for the peekers but once I saw it, I couldn’t wait to pair them up!

I started out by stamping two of the present images from the Holiday Set and the unicorn and her hooves from the main Peeker set with Asphalt Premium Dye Ink. I colored them in with Copic Sketch Markers, using traditional red and green for the presents and soft grey, pink and purple for the unicorn. I used the coordinating dies to cut out the images and then got to work on the card base.

I started out with a side folding A2 sized card base and trimmed down a piece of green and white pattern paper from the Merry and Bright Paper Pad to be 5.5 in x 4.25 in. I added the green panel to the card base with EZ Squeeze Liquid Glue and then I decided I needed a white inner layer to help my colored images pop. I didn’t want to add a plain white panel so I grabbed the Buffalo Plaid 6×6 Embossing Folder. I love how this pattern looks on light card stock and I think it adds a lot of interest without taking away from the images. I added that layer to the card with foam tape and then attached the die cut images with liquid glue. I still stamp a sentiment inside my card when I know who it’s going to and I love having a more simple card front. I hope you are having a great day and Happy November!
