Hello everyone! Justin here, and today I am sharing a Valentine’s Day card that I created using the new Stinkin’ Sweet Stamp Set & Polka Hearts Cover Die!
The first time that I saw the Polka Hearts Cover Die, I immediately thought of doing something that looked like watercolor with it! I just thought that the soft watercolors on he paper, one die cut, would contrast so nicely with a bold glittery paper underneath!
I colored up my skunk couple and flowers from the Stinkin’ Sweet stamp set with Copic Markers, used the coordinating dies to cut them out, and set them aside.
Next, taking a 4.5″ x 5.75″ piece of white blending cardstock, I smudged Festive Berries Distress Ink onto a glass mat, spritzed it with water, and then smudged my paper into the ink a couple times, completely removing and reapplying it between smudges. I heat set the ink, and then repeated this pattern with Barn Door & Kitsch Flamingo Distress Inks. Once dry, I splattered my panel with Barn Door Distress Ink, Metallic Gold Watercolor & Sparkle Silk to give it some glitz. When this was dried entirely, I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Polka Hearts Cover Die and set my panel aside.
I then took a piece of Rose Gold Glitter Paper from the Spring Glitter Paper Pack and die cut it with the largest rectangle in the Stitched Rectangle Set 1 Dies so that it would be sized perfectly to be be placed under my Polka Hearts panel. Once die cut, I adhered it under my Polka Hearts panel and placed the unit under a large acrylic block for a few minutes so that my adhesive dried evenly and effectively.
I took one of the dies from the Large Sentiment Strip Dies set and die cut a strip from red cardstock. I then heat embossed the sentiment “you’re scent-sational” in white powder.
My card was ready to be put together! I used foam tape to adhere my skunk couple, flowers and sentiment strip onto my card panel. I finished off by using some White Glitter Enamel Dots for extra embellishment. And there you have it!
