His and Hers Pineapple

Hey friends, Katie here today with more summer fun. Not only will you have some fresh summer card ideas, but you might also leave here hungry for some summer fruit!

Meet his and hers pineapples! They are bright and tasty and perfect for males and females. Here is how I made them:

Hers:
For this card, I started by stamping the floral pineapple outline from from the Sweet Friend Stamp Set. I used the coordinating Sweet Friend Die Set to cut it out. Then I colored the pineapple with my Copics (R29, R24, YG25, YG11, YG09, G07, G03, YR23, Y13, Y15, Y35, Y38, RV02, V17, V05, RV63, RV21, RV17, RV04) and added highlights with my white gel pen. Next, I used a bit of DP from the All Occassion Florals DP pad, cut to 4 X 5.25 onto a white base. I pulled out some yellow and green cardstock and cut them using the new Fancy Tag Die. I took the yellow layer and used the Sun Ray Embossing Folder to make it pop. I secured the layers and mounted the pineapple on top using foam tape. Then I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and die cut it using the banner die from the tag set and mounted that on the tag as well. I mounted all of this on the base and then added gold Sparkle Gems.

His:
I used a lot of the same product. I stamped the black and white base with the Sweet Friend Stamp Set using my Misti. Then I used the opaque bits with some distress oxides to stamp the colors (I used Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers). Then I cut it out with the coordinating Sweet Friend Die Set. For this one I used the same Fancy Tag Die, but this time I used some teal cardstock and paper from the Happy Paper Pad and put the layers together. I, again, mounted the pineapple on the tag using the foam tape. Also again, I stamped the sentiment on white and cut it using the banner die from the set. I cut some DP from the same Happy Pad, also 4 X 5.25 and mounted it on a white base. I added my tag and then added just a little bling using green Starlight Gems.

So what do you think? Did I nail the his and hers versions? I was initially worried that the Starlight Gems would take away from the masculine look on the his version, but I think it is OK. I do prefer the Her’s version, because I like the pink and floral. Which one is your favorite?
