Waves of Cheer

Hey there, Katie here today. Who’s ready for some bright and happy?! ME!!! I have just that for you today with this creation.

Today’s card features a smattering of fun products to make this bright and happy scene. First and foremost, I used the Waves of Cheer Stamps and Coordinating Dies for this. These stamps are fun to capture those solid images and I used the starfish for the background using colored Catherine Pooler inks. On that layer, I added some Broken China ink around the edges with my Mini Ergo Blending Brush. Next, I stamped the seahorse on vellum using my Embossing & Watermark Ink Pad, then I sprinkled it with some Ray of Sunshine and Orange Pop Embossing Powders on it and heat set it. I cut it out and distressed the X 5.25edges with a bit of blue ink. Setting this aside, I cut a strip of vellum and distressed it with the same blue, but used the Bubbly Waves Stencil. Then sprinkled a little bit of Sea Glass embossing Powder over it and because it wasn’t very wet, it stuck to just the edges, which was perfect. After heat setting that, I mounted it around the base layer (4 X 5.25) and that was then mounted on a white A2 base. I stamped my sentiment in black and then added in my seahorse, strategically placing my foam tape so you couldn’t see it. Lastly, I added a few embellishments to look like bubbles.

I love the blends of the inks and the mix of the embossing powders. The seahorse feels rather psychedelic, but it is very pretty and shimmery and I could imagine them being this bright and blending in with the environment.

This card is different than my typical style, which made it all the more fun. I hope that you like it too.
