Hello, all! In just two days we will be in a new year! And a new decade! How exciting! I made a quick card with some Pink & Main patterned paper and stepped it up a bit with some heat embossing!

I have a confession to make … I’ve been hoarding the Jolly 6×6 Paper Pad from Pink & Main for a long time. Maybe a bit too long because it’s a retired paper pad! Eek! and Oops! But the good news is that just a month ago Pink & Main released a gorgeous new Be Merry 6×6 Paper Pad and you could totally use this paper pad instead! I just wanted a simple patterned paper background and the Be Merry 6×6 Paper Pad has some gorgeous stripes and polka dot patterns that would be fabulous for this design! I chose my patterned paper and cut it down with the largest die in the Stitched Rectangles 1 Die Set. I used Versamark ink and stamped the snowflakes from the Flurries stamp set all over the striped background and heat embossed them with white powder.

The Holiday Seals stamp set from The Stamping Village has images from a bunch of companies that came together to create this large stamp set. My favorite is obviously the Pink & Main mug! If you saw my card last week then you know that this mug is one of my favorites from the Christmas Mugs stamp set and I love the mini size in the Holiday Seals stamp set! I colored the images with Copic Markers and cut out the image with one of the dies from the Stitched Circles die set. It perfectly cuts out the seal with a fun stitched edge!

I hope you try heat embossing on patterned paper! It’s a fun and easy way to add texture and dimension! I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
