Vellum Blossoms

Hello!

It’s Rachelle from Red Cre8s and I’ve got a slimline card for you today featuring the “Cherry Blossom” Stamp Set from Pink and Main’s latest release! I used a color combination that feels like springtime – Robin’s Egg Blue mixed with pinks, plums and bright greens!

I decided to try something a bit different and so I heat embossed all of the floral clusters onto heavy vellum and painted the images on both the front and back. When they were thoroughly dry, I cut them out. The great thing about this set is that the clusters are integrated along the branch and also as separate stamps so this made my job much easier!

The vellum clusters warped just a bit after they were painted but this worked out great for what I had planned! I die cut the branch image onto white card stock and painted just the areas that would show, attached the vellum pieces with a few glue dots and added iridescent gems to the centers! They look like they are floating above the white card stock and add great dimension!

I ink blended a panel with Speckled Egg/Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks and spattered it with lots of gold/pearl paint. The panel was die cut with two of the Layered Slimline Dies to make frames. I added a shadow to the center panel by blending a bit more ink through my leftover branch die cut piece, heat embossed the sentiment and glued it to the middle of a slimline card base (4″ x 9″). The branch was attached with Scor-tape/foam dots and the outer frame was backed with foam tape and pressed into place.

I was “tickled pink” with the way the vellum cherry blossoms turned out and I can’t wait to try this technique again! Thanks so much for joining me and for more great inspiration check out Pink and Main’s Instagram and Facebook Pages!

Have a great day! Rachelle
