Valentine’s Hearts

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I have made a Valentine’s card to share with you today. Here in Japan, Valentine’s Day is celebrated as a day for girls to give chocolates to boys. There is another day on the 14th March, called White Day, for the boys to reciprocate.

I started today’s card by creating a loose watercolour background. I did this in several light layers, drying the panel between layers.

I love the Double Stitched Heart dies from Pink and Main and I wanted to use them to create a soft flowing card. I cut the hearts from white cardstock and coloured them with Copics in a range of pinks, reds, yellows and a little purple. I also cut the same hearts from black cardstock and mounted the hearts on these, shifting them slightly so that the black showed as a drop shadow.

The sentiment is from the Just Because Sentiments stamp set and I stamped this in clear ink and melted pale pink embossing powder to create the sentiment. The coordinating sentiment strip dies are always so helpful in creating neat sentiments.

I used a pink card base to frame the panel, and mounted the hearts in a scattered design before popping the sentiment up with foam tape. This completed the card!

I hope that you have a lovely week, and that you get some crafty time to play.

Until next time,

Blessings

Donna
