Hello crafty friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a pair of cards to share with you today that have been coloured with the exact same colours and techniques. The only difference between these two cards is the ink I chose.

The card on the left has been stamped with a black ink so that the lines are very visible. The card on the right has been stamped with fade out ink which is a very pale neutral beige colour. This sweet bird image comes from the Spring Snow Globe Scenes stamp set, which has four different adorable spring images, including a kite flying bear who has my heart! I used my Polychromos pencils to colour both of the images, and pencil colouring paper for both. It has a lot of tooth, which I like, but is not a very bright white.

Once the images were coloured, I cut them using the Stitched Rectangles 2 die. I used the Stitched Rectangles 1 die to cut a background patterned paper from the Year Round Plaids Paper pack. I’m so into this paper pack that I suspect it is not going to last for a year around at all! Between these two layers is a piece of plain blue paper from my stash.

It’s really interesting to see what a difference the ink makes to the final image, and as a bonus, colouring on the black lined image was a great warm up and confidence booster for the no line colouring. I hope you’ve enjoyed these sweet spring images and that the weather is treating you well wherever you are.
Until next time,
Blessings,
Donna
