Sneak Peek – Floral Sprays and Beautiful Days

Happy Friday! We made it through another week and I hope this card inspires you to have a beautiful weekend! There is a new release coming from Pink and Main next Friday, April 22 and I am so excited to be sharing this sneak peek of two new stamp set as well as some other fun products!

When I saw that Pink and Main was bringing out embossing powder and ink, I instantly thought of doing an emboss resist card. Normally when I do emboss resist, I use the blending brushes and ink blend over my images but this time I decided to change it up and watercolor over/around my embossing. I started out by stamping the largest images from the new Floral Spray Stamp Set with the new Clear Embossing Ink onto smooth watercolor paper. Even the smoothest watercolor paper that I have been able to find has some texture to it so I did stamp the image about three times to ensure the whole image was captured. Then I used the new Icicle Embossing powder which is a gorgeous rainbow/white glitter and heated the image until the powder was all melted. I repeated the stamping process with the one of the sentiments from the new Here for You Stamp set and the Clear embossing powder.

Once both images were ready to go, I grabbed some ink pads and an acrylic pallet so that I could smush the ink onto the pallet and pick it up with a brush. I worked in sections starting with the flowers and added clean water to each flower area first then went back in with the ink and started dropping in colors. Normally you need to let each section dry before you paint an area next to it but with the embossing powder acting as a barrier, you don’t have to do that and the whole process is much easier. Normally I would just use a clear powder over black in for this process but I really love this reverse image and the sparkle is so gorgeous in person. I finished the piece by adding dark brown around the boarder and blended it out with more clean water. I trimmed down the whole panel and added it to a panel of the dark wood print from the Pumpkin Season Paper Pack 6x6 that was trimmed down to a standard A-2 size. I cant wait for you all to see the new release, you are going to love it!!
