A Supersized Combo of Love

Hello everyone! Justin here, and I don’t know about you… but today I’m really craving a burger combo meal! Just kidding (well, not really)! But, I am serving up this adorable card using the Take the Cake stamp set! When looking at this set, I wanted to feature one of these food couples onto a card, and then the McInspiration hit me, and I just knew it was going to be the burger and fries!

I colored up the couple with my Copic Markers, and use the Take the Cake Coordinating Dies to cut the image out. I also used some liquid adhesive on the little flower the burger is giving to the fries, and sprinkled some Raspberry Super Fine Glitter. It is a very small detail, but thought it would be that extra added touch the card needed!

Next, I took a piece of red cardstock, misted it with water, placed it into the Garden Gate Embossing Folder, and ran it through my die cutting machine. Once my panel was embossed, I took some gold metallic watercolor and splattered it over the panel.

Next, I used the 2nd largest Concave Rectangle die to cut out a piece of light yellow cardstock. I distressed the edges of the cardstock with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Then, I placed only the Hearts Stencil from the Conversation Hearts Stencil 2-Pack over the panel, and blended a solid layer of Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink. Using that same gold metallic watercolor, I splattered it over this panel as well.

For my sentiment, I loved that the Take the Cake Coordinating Dies comes with a sentiment strip that fits the sentiments from the stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment “we make a great combo” in white embossing powder, and then used the coordinating die to cut it out.

Using liquid adhesive, I glued my yellow concave rectangle to my red embossed panel. Using foam tape, I adhered my Combo Meal Couple & sentiment to my panel. I finished the card off by adhering a couple clusters of Clear Glitter Enamel Dots, and my card was completed!
