Summer Reading

Hey there ya’ll! Katie here today! I have just finished reading a great book called Remarkably Bright Creatures. I highly recommend it. BUT, if you are going to read it, you are going to need a good bookmark. I can hook you up there, because I just made a 4 pack!

Aren’t they so fun! I loved making them and these long legged critter stamps are perfect for bookmarks!

Here is how I made them. I stamped the images from the new stamps- Pawsome Friends (Kitty) and Ruff Day (Puppy). After stamping them, I colored them with my Copics. I decided I wanted two more, so I pulled out the Stand Tall Stamp and Bearly Wait Stamp Set and repeated this. After I colored them all and added gel highlights, I cut them out with the coordinating dies- Pawsome Friends Die, Ruff Days Dies, Stand Tall Dies, and Bearly Wait Dies. I put those aside and worked on the bookmarks themselves.

For the base, I used various P&M Papers for the front side and cardstock on the back. From left to right, I used the Garden Paper Pack with a light blue cardstock, a retired paper pad with Dress Shop Cardstock, Warm Basics Paper Pad and Wildflowers Cardstock, Sunshine and Smiles Paper Pad and Streetlight Cardstock. I cut these to 2X6 and the side slant is 1/4 inch in and goes one inch down. I used the my EZ Tear Tape to adhere the two layers together. Then I used the little circle and heart from the Fancy Tag Dies to create hole at the top. Next, I used a leftover bit of each cardstock with the Extra Large Sentiment Strips Dies. Then I used some of Embossing Ink, Magic Anti-Static Brush, and Embossing Powders to create a sentiment.

For these first two bookmarks, I used the Caramel Latte and the Lilac Embossing Powder. For the second two, I used Aquatini and Orange Pop Embossing Powder. I used Foam Tape to pop up the sentiment and the images. Then I grabbed some twine for the tops.

I think these are so fun, cute, bright, happy and have great encouraging sentiments. I think these would make a great gift for a reader in your life. I hope that you like them!

Thank you so much for visiting today! I hope you will hit up FB, YT and IG for more inspiration and then head to the shop to pick some of these goodies.
