Stamped With Love

I’m sending you some crafty hugs today with this fun shaker card that is loaded with lots of sweet details! Today I’m working with the Pink & Main Crafty Friends stamp set with coordinating die set. I love the adorable critters using crafty supplies – it makes me SMILE BIG!

I’ve had some crafty supplies on my wish list for a while and this year I treated myself to the Pink & Main Mini Minc foiling machine. I’ve used a hot foiler in the past and am never happy with the foil transfer. It is never as clean as I would like – flecks of foil are missing from where they’re supposed to be and they’re scattered everywhere they’re not wanted. The Minc machine works by applying foil to areas that have been treated with toner. Pink & Main has lots of different sheets that they call Foilables. Just select a design (I used Oh Craft) cut a panel of foil and run it through the Minc. Coverage is complete and GORGEOUS! I used Midnight Black Cheerfoil on my card.

In the past I have been disappointed adding color to the hot foil designs I’d create because the ink applicators would remove even more of the foil from my designs making them more blotchy looking. So I was excited to try adding color to the foilable panel. I mean.. they’re pretty enough “as is” but if I could add even more color I’d be over the moon. The foilable panels are winners! I would not recommend coloring with Copic or Alcohol markers but using Distress Ink, these hot foil panels and take it. I didn’t notice any foil removed from the panel. Another plus that I want to mention is how much foil is on one roll from Pink & Main – 25 feet!! That’s a great value!

I created a “flat shaker” using a Zig Zag Rectangle die with some vellum inserted on the underside. You can still see the foil pattern through the vellum, but it softens it so the stamped and die cut images can take center stage. I used a Stitched Rectangles One die for the cover of the card base. I love the clean stitched impression and how the touch of black picks up on the other elements of the design.

I hope you’re smiling now too! Have a great day!
