Hi friends! This is Caitlin from CaitlinAnnalCards and I am back with another Sneak Peek at the new release coming from Pink and Main this week!
As soon as I saw the new Heart Spotlight Cover Die, I knew that I really wanted to play with paper piecing if different patterns. I grabbed the Pastel Dreams Paper Pad and picked out this really pretty green on green pattern and the pink with white dots. I ran the cover die through the die cutting machine with each pattern as well as with an 80 lb plain white card stock to use for the frame. I used a thin layer of the EZ Squeeze Craft Glue to glue the frame to a card base first and then glued in each piece of pattern paper like a puzzle.
Then I grabbed the new Prickly Hugs Stamp set and stamped out a cactus and the “Hugs” sentiment in an alcohol marker-friendly ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers and die cut them with the coordinating die set and adhered them to the card panel. That’s when I decided that I needed to add the “Sending” sentiment to make the “Hugs” feel like it belonged there so I stamped it directly onto the heart.
The final step was to add some bling to help connect and anchor the cactus to the sentiments. I used the multi colored pearls from the Essential Pearls and added three to each corner in a triangle shape mixing the light pink and light green. I love how this card turned out and I think it would make a great Valentine’s card as well as a good anytime card, paper hugs are good year-round!
