Hi friends! This is Caitlin from CaitlinAnnaleeCards and I am beyond excited to share this sneak peek with you of the new January release coming soon! Today’s card features an image and a sentiment from two different sets that I immediately fell in love with when I first saw them. There are three things I love in this world: 1.My family 2. Crafting 3. Coffee… not always in that order, so this card really comes from my heart and it was a joy to make.
The coffee and donut image are from the new Take the Cake stamp set and I had so much fun coloring them in with Copic Markers. I tried to match my color blends to the pattern paper I used as closely as I could which was also a fun personal challenge. I used my favorite pattern from the All Occasions Florals 6×6 Paper Pad as the base for this A2 side folding card trimmed down to 5.25 in x 4 in to leave a thin white border.
I also used the same pink makers to color in the hearts around my sentiment and added in some white gel pen highlights to create a shiny look on the donut glaze and the little hearts. I knew that I really wanted to use the coffee and donut couple image with the “ You Make Me So Happy” sentiment from the new My Heart Smile Stamp Set (and life changing coordinating dies, because who doesn’t love a die cut sentiment!?!) but I wasn’t sure how to place them on the card panel. I decided to grab my Layered Oval Dies and cut a nice oval from my alcohol marker paper to create some ground for the sweet couple to stand on. I used orange and yellow Copics to create a horizon line and blended it down the oval enough that the sentiment would reach the stopping point. I adhered everything flat and decided against any bling for this card to keep it simple and let the colors speak for themselves.
