Singing a Merry Christmas to You

Hi Friends, this is Caitlin and today I am sharing another card featuring the beautiful cardinal images we got earlier this fall/winter. I am so in love with these designs and I think cardinals hold a special place in a lot of people’s hearts. I started out with my images this time and let them direct my project. I used both the Winter Cardinals Stamps and the Winter Birdhouse Stamps and stamped out my images in alcohol safe ink. I colored in my birds and house with Copic Markers and if you want to see that process please check out my reel over on the Pink and Main instagram page. Once my images were cut out with the coordinating dies, I used a very small amount of the EZ squeeze glue to add some Ice Rink Super Fine Glitter to the snowy areas and set them aside to dry.

To start building up my card, I added a piece of brown and white patterned paper from the Pumpkin Season Paper Pad to a side folding A2 card base. I love how this pattern looks with the wintery images and I really enjoy using non-“Christmas” paper pads for holiday cards. I wanted to create a more simple background for my images to go on above the patterned paper and my usual go-to is white dry embossed card stock. To change it up a little, I decided to ink blend the edges of my white card sock instead. I used the Mini Ergonomic Blender Brush to blend on a very gentle amount of The Park Ink all around the edges of the panel. I added this layer to the card base and then temporarily placed my images around the card to decide on sentiment placement. I stamped the sentiment directly to my card with black ink and then it was time to commit to the image placement.

I adhered the branch, birdhouse and the holly to the panel directly with liquid glue and then popped up the bird on the branch with thin foam tape. I really love how soft this background came out and I think this whole card is just so sweet. Something I really enjoy about Pink and Main is how many sets they have that work together, it makes it so fun to create and mix/match. I hope you have a great holiday weekend!!
