Simple Sandcastle Scene

Hello crafty friends, It’s Joy here. I don’t usually make super simple card designs but, when I saw the Summer Snow Globe Scenes this simple design immediately popped into my head. I used the super fun sandcastle image and created a dark blue sky background. I hope you enjoy!

I stamped my image onto white Copic friendly cardstock and stamped it with black Copic friendly ink. I used E33,35,57 for the sandcastle. I added darker areas where there would be a shadow and then kept it lighter where there would be more light. The bucket is colored with BG45,49,09, I love this dark teal color, I think it stands out perfectly against the blue background. The flag and sand shovel are colored with Yr00,02,04, I like orange and blues together and I really like this softer orange combination.

I used the coordinating die to cut out the sand castle.

I used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the shovel, bucket and flag along with some white dots on the sand and sandcastle. This just adds another layer of interest to your images.

On an A2 white piece of cardstock, I ink blended the background using the Mask It Rectangle stencil. I used a blending brush and Uncharted Mariner Distress Oxide ink and inked it darker at the top and got lighter towards the bottom. I stamped the cute little clouds from the Summer Snow globe Scenes stamp set with white pigment ink.

I added foam tape behind the image and adhered it at the bottom of the inked area. Then I used my Misti to stamp the sentiment with black ink. I added the panel to a white A2 card base.

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Hugs,

Joy Baldwin
