Sew Much Fun -using dies to emboss backgrounds

Hello all,

Donna here, with my first card made with the October release. I have chosen a monochromatic colour scheme and have combined several items from the release for the card you see here.

Firstly, the focal image is from the Sewing stamp set, which is full of great crafty images. This would make a great Christmas gift for friends who love to sew. I stamped the image in Copic friendly ink and coloured it. I cut the image out using the matching die.

To make the background, which I think is the real hero of this card, I used the quilt square die, running it though my die cutting machine with an embossing pad. My embossing machine has instructions for how to adjust the layers for embossing and there are many great tutorials on youtube. I have included a photo at the end which shows the lovely texture that this die gives to the background.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I matched the colour of the ink to the copic colours I chose. I cut the tag using a die from the Gift Bag Dies set. I cut a matching tag, just a little larger from a polka dot paper from the Sunrise paper pad. I also used this paper to frame the background.

I’m ‘sew’ looking forward to bringing you more projects with this wonderful release. It is full of so many great images and backgrounds. Until next time, happy crafting.

Blessings,

Donna
