Sending You Some Sunny Smiles

Hi Friends, this is Caitlin from CaitlinAnnaleeCards and I am sharing this really sparkly and fun card with you today featuring lots of goodies from the newest release. I was so excited to play with the new Flocks of Love stamp set from the June release and I just loved the flamingo in the bikini so I decided to make that the main focus of my card. I wanted to create a fun frame around my little flamingo so I used the inside section of the Mask It Rectangle Stencil to mask of the center part of my white card stock which was trimmed down to 5 in x 3.75 in.

I prepped my outer card stock area with the Magic Anti-Static Brush by just brushing it all over, which is so nice and mess-free. Then I used washi tape on the back of my card stock panel to hold the Dotty Stencil in place while I stamped through the dots with the Embossing/Watermark Ink. Then I removed the center mask and poured the Princess Pink Embossing Powder (which is gorgeous and glittery) over the whole panel and melted it down with a heat gun. The texture and sparkle that this adds to the card is so pretty and really makes the whole thing pop. I used copic markers and a ruler to very lightly color in a sky at the top of the masked rectangle and some sand at the bottom, leaving the middle section blank and soft.

I wanted to add something else to make this feel like a little scene so I also grabbed the Summer Snow Globe Scenes stamp set and stamped out the sand castle and flamingo onto my favorite coloring-paper with alcohol friendly ink. I Copic colored in the images binging in a teal to match the Middle School blue paper I wanted for my main panel as well as some yellow for an extra summery-pop and die cut them all out. I also stamped out the little sun from the Flocks of Love stamp set with yellow ink and colored it in with a solid yellow. I wanted to make sure that my sentiment fit nicely inside my little scene to I grabbed this smaller “sending sunny smiles” sentiment from the Summer Snow Globe Scenes and stamped it directly into the scene with black ink. I glued everything in place and attached the whole thing to a side folding A2 sized card base and I cannot wait to send this to someone who needs an extra smile!
