Sending Happy Wishes

Happy New Release Day! Hi friends, I hope you are already feeling super inspired by the new March 2022 release and I can’t wait to share this sweet birthday card with you.

I started out by trimming a piece of the teal/turquoise paper from the new Year Round Dots and Stripes 6×6 Paper Pack to 5.25 in x 4 in so that I would have a nice, thin white boarder when I glued to the card base (A2 5.5 in x 4.25in). I used the scrap from that same paper to die cut the reverse (stripe side) with the retired Wishes Dies. I am so sorry that this die isn’t available right now, but I think this technique can be used with so many other large word dies that I wanted to share is so that you can be inspired to shop your stash to see what kind of mixed sentiments you can make. I cut the shadow layer for the word die with plain white cardstock and layered them up. Then I took the smaller of the new Loopy Borders Dies and cut it twice from the same white card stock and then glued them to the top and bottom of the card going in opposite directions. Using them this way made them look less like streamers and more like cake frosting to me and I love both effects!

I grabbed the sweet floating monkey image from the new Party Animals Stamp Set and stamped it in an alcohol friendly ink. I colored him in with Copic markers to match/coordinate with the pattern paper and die cut him out with the Coordinating Die Set. I borrow a small sentiment from the Just Because Stamp set and cut the “happy” part out of the middle to create a new sentiment of “Sending Happy Wishes Your Way”. I loving combining thin sentiment strips with large word dies for a fun card front. The final step after adhering all of my other pieces down was to add some of the Freezin’ Season Glitter Enamel Dots for some extra sparkle and interest. I hope you are feeling very inspired by the new release and I can’t wait to see what you make!
