Hello, Pink & Main friends and fans!
It’s Savannah O’Gwynn, and I’m back to share a sweet card that I colored and created using the NEW P&M May goodies!!
It’s been awhile since I colored an image. I won’t lie- coloring is intimidating! I am such a newbie and not really good at it… so I tend to go back to my roots of layers, die cutting, fussy cutting, and stamping. I don’t want to give up just yet… so you are in for another ride with my coloring journey today 🙃
I love how this little unicorn from the Rainy Day stamp set is splashing/playing in the puddle! I knew I had to use her for a fun encouragement card! I wanted the background to be “cloudy” or “grey” with a pop of a rainbow. The card design is really simple- stenciled background, rainbow stripes, colored image, and embossed sentiment. #simple
Sometimes I like to make my own stencils using cardstock or cardboard laying around. That’s what I did to create the rainy background– I die cut the raindrops with scrap cardstock and made a reusable stencil. SUPER EASY!!!
And I’ve found the BEST way to apply ink—- I used the Ink Dauber Wand!!! This wand is AMAZING!!! It was very smooth, holds a good amount of ink (no waste and less returning to the ink pad!), and easy to use! Plus, the ends come off easily and you can switch out the dauber for each ink color. LOOOOOVE IT! I definitely think I will be using this dauber wand for all my stenciling, although I think I might have to buy several different colored wands because they come in pink, purple, yellow, green, blue, and MORE!! Check out the wide variety of colored wands in the P&M store HERE!!!!
SLTC#23: For my coloring, I went back to the basics— coloring with the lightest color and adding shading. Mistakes!??! Well… there are a few but nothing big that needs to be pointed out like my previous images😂 Hey!! Maybe that means I really am making progress with my coloring!!! LOL! I couldn’t believe how many pens/markers I used while coloring this little unicorn— once I saw the finished pile, I had to take a photo. LOL! One little image and 21+ markers to color it– worth it I guess because I like how she turned out:)
Despite my fear of coloring, I think this little card turned out pretty good. I guess the lesson is to never give up- keeping at it will only help me get better:)
I hope my card inspires you to pull out your P&M goodies and create today!! And maybe you will get back on the coloring bus with me— let’s continue to color together!
I’ll be back with MORE to share soon! Please remember to share what you create using these techniques, if you are learning to color with me, or if you use these P&M stamp/die sets so I can leave you some love ❤️
THANKS so much for stopping by! Happy crafting!!!
Hugs ❤️ Savannah
