Playful Penguins By Joy Baldwin

Hi crafty friends, Merry Christmas! Today’s card is a fun and playful card. I’m using the super cute Snow One Like You stamp and coordinating die. I love these little penguins, they’re so darling. I also created a pretty snowflake background with inks and an embossing folder. Hope you enjoy!

I stamped the sweet little penguins with Pink and Main’s Asphalt Ink and then I used Copic Markers to color them. I used C4,6,8,1 for the penguins, then YR14.02 for the feet and nose, R85,83 and V17, BV 11 for the hat , ear muffs and scarfs. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

The background was fun to make. I squished Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac and Kitsch Flamingo onto my work surface and spritzed it with water. I took my A2 size white cardstock and dipped it into the wet ink, I continued this until I got the desired look. I also overlapped colors. I dried the background with my heat tool then splattered gold metallic watercolor paints on the background. Once that was dry I used the Snow Day 6×6 embossing folder on the background. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock and inked it with Salvaged Patina at the bottom. I also stamped and die cut snowflakes from the stamp set with the inks from the background.

I adhered all the images onto the background, the snowflakes and penguins are popped up with foam tape. To finish the card I added Touch Of Glass to the snowflakes and snowballs, this gives it a great shiny look. I stamped the sentiment with Asphalt ink and popped it up with foam tape as well.

Thanks for stopping by, Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Hugs,

Joy Baldwin
