Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here and I have a set of two cards today that use the same background technique and two different stamping styles on top.

I started with two pieces of watercolour paper, and pale washes of pink and blue paint. I slowly and carefully painted alternate stripes of the two colours. I then used the beautiful Wildflowers stamp and stamped it on each of the two pieces.

Firstly I stamped in Versamark clear ink, and heat embossed one of the images in white. Then I used black ink for the second stamping on the other piece of paper.

I then painted some strips of watercolour paper in more saturated versions of the pink and blue. I still had the colours on my palette, so I just added less water. That way I had background papers that perfectly matched the colours of the stripes.

I usually love to use black strips for my sentiments, but I felt that it would overpower the pale stripes so I used a soft grey. The sentiments come from the Special Day Stamp Set. These were, of course (for me, anyway) cut with the Sentiment Strip Dies.
This is a departure from my usual colour scheme, but I’ve been feeling drawn to restful colours lately, and I love the soft lines of this stamp and thought they’d be a perfect match.
Until next time, may your days be restful.
Blessings
