One Hard Workin’ Mamma

Hi Friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I really wanted to share this sweet card that I think perfectly captures an honest moment of motherhood, or even just womanhood. We are all so busy with life, work, families, crafts and everything else and sometimes its nice to have your hard work recognized. This is the perfect kind of card to send a friend or loved one who could use a little acknowledgement.

I started out this card by stamping this sleepy mamma stamp from the Mom Life Stamp Set with alcohol-friendly ink and colored her in with Copic Markers. I also cut her out with the Coordinating Dies and I love you clean and crisp she looks.
Here are the colors I used for this one:
Skintone- E04, E13, E11, E00
Hair- E49, E59, E57, E35
Laptop- C5, C3, C1, BG11, BG10
Shirt- BG18, BG13, BG11
Table- E57

Once my main feature was ready, I trimmed the teal honey comb paper from the Bee Kind Paper Pad to fit a standard A2 sized card (5.5 in x 4.25 in) because it made me think of really pretty kitchen backsplash tiles and I thought that would be the perfect place for this scene to happen. I really wanted to play with layers for this background because the whole card was going to be so simple so I trimmed a piece of Kraft card stock down to 4.75 in x 3.5 in and a white card stock to 4.5 in x 3.25. I used my favorite embossing folder, the Garden Gate 6×6 Embossing Folder, and used it to dry emboss the white card stock panel to create some fun texture. To mirror the look of the thin Kraft frame around the white panel, I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of white and then glued it into the corner of a scrap of Kraft and trimmed it down to create an even, thin frame. I popped up the sentiment with foam tape and adhered the stamped image down directly with the EZ Squeeze Glue and then added some shine with 2 clusters of the teal pearls from the Pastel Pearls wheel, which is a must have in my eyes.
