Hi Friends! Donna here with a new take on a stencil that I’ve used before. Last time, it was all soft shell pink, but this time, there’s nothing shy or retiring about this card! This gorgeous Nautilus stencil is fast becoming a favourite of mine. There’s something so pleasing about the way those shells open out. Did you know that they follow the Fibonacci number sequence, discovered in 1202, and apparently also found in sunflowers and spiral galaxies? No wonder they look so amazing!
To make this card, I taped the Nautilus stencil to a piece of white card with some wash tape on the back, then used a rainbow of colours to stencil the shells. I tried to keep similar colours together so I wouldn’t get any muddy colours, but the very centre of the card, where the yellow and purple mixed was a little bit duller than the rest of the card. The solution? A sentiment, front and centre!
This sentiment comes from the Floral Shells Stamp set– a gorgeous set with shells and flowers combined to make superb images. I stamped it in blue and added a matching border using a scrap of one of Pink and Main’s newly released card stock, called Middle School. The main panel was cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die (2), just because every card I ever make seems to use this die! I am such a fan of stitched borders!
Finally, if you’re wondering what the first card looked like, here it is! Very different, I think! You can see that blog post here.
That’s all for today’s card. I hope that you’ve been inspired to use your products in lots of different ways. This stencil is certainly very versatile!
Until next time, may your world be full of colour, however you like it!
Blessings,
Donna
