Just a Note – Colouring Cacti

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here. Do you have favourite stamp sets, or images that you love to colour over and over? I love flowers, and I adore cacti, so today I’ve chosen cacti to share with you.

My favourite thing about cacti is the range of colours that they come in naturally. If you want to grab a blue green, or a yellow green, or a peach or a purple or blue marker to colour with, you’re just fine!

The stamp set I used today is Terrariums. It has three different images, and there are coordinating dies to go with each, and I’ve all three for today’s card. The sentiments on this set are excellent too, as there is a real range of occasions covered.

I stamped each of these images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto white card. This is still my favourite ink for Copic colouring, as it dries fast, and doesn’t smudge. I grabbed a range of greens and purples and got colouring. I have a new favourite glass colour combination too – B000 and YG61.

Once I had coloured the images, I cut them out. I then cut three strips of black card, each a quarter of an inch wide, to make the shelves. I cut a panel using the largest of the Stitched Rectangles 2 dies, because I like the look of my images just spilling off the edge of the panel.

The ‘JUST A NOTE’ sentiment comes from the same stamp set, and it was just the perfect size and shape for the space on the bottom left. I have to admit that this was more good luck than good judgement this time!

A little foam tape to pop up the terrariums completed the card. I hope that you are all keeping safe and sane, and getting some crafty time here and there.

Until next time,

Blessings,

Donna

Dana, Such a beautiful card! Thank you for posting your Copic colors so I won’t have to figure them all out! Your new favorite combo for glass looks really good on your card. I can’t quite shade as well as you did especially the green to pink near the bottom of the last cactus. I’ll go work on that as soon as I pick up the Terrarium stamp set! Incredible card!
