I’m so grateful… (stamp and die of the month)

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here today from donnaisplayingpaper. Are your thoughts turning to autumn yet? I’m ready for some cooler breezes, and for the humidity of Tokyo’s summer to be gone already!!! I’m walking after the sun goes down because it’s just too hot during the daylight hours! Anyway, with thoughts of Autumn on my mind, I’ve made a cute card with the August Stamp (and die) of the month. This month it’s some adorable little mice, and the you can choose to subscribe for the stamp only or stamp and die together. Every month Pink and Main releases different cuties, so I’m sharing a card today that shows a design that you could adapt for any of the stamps of the month!

I stamped the images with Copic friendly ink and coloured them, using a little white Posca pen for highlights, and a thin black marker for some whiskers. The images from the Fall Mice included this sweet little pair of flowers so I used those as my central image. I then cut the images using the matching dies. Yay for not having to cut in between those flowers, and those little spaces in the curly tails!

The background for this card is made directly onto the card base. I used post it tape to mask off the top and bottom, and washi tape to make the vertical borders. I laid the cut and coloured pieces onto the card and worked out how much space each image would need, then chose the width of my tape to suit the images. There was no maths involved at all. (No math, for my USA friends!) Hooray for eyeballing! I blended each rectangle using a pair of Distress Oxides in autumn tones, and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set. The sentiment on this set are great, and I really like the printed font.

I popped the images up with foam tape and the card was done!

If you want to check out the whole August release from Pink and Main, you can do so here.

Until next time, I hope the weather is suiting you well, wherever you are.

Blessings,

Donna
