How Many Candles Is Too Many?

This is Caitlin and that was a trick question, there is no such thing as too many candles! I was so excited to use the new Birthday Candles Stencils and I love how fun this card turned out, plus it came together super quick.

I started by creating my own pattern paper with the candle stencils and white card stock. I taped the whole-candle layer to an A2 sized card stock from the back so that it would stay in place while not blocking any of the design, I used the Mini Ergonomic Brushes to blend a different Oxide Ink across each row of candles (yellow on top, lime green in the middle and pink at the bottom). The I swapped to the candle pattern stencil and blended two different colors for each row, overlapping them in the middle (dark pink and orange, teal and dark blue, dark purple and dark purple).I finished it up with yellow outer flames and orange inner flames. All of the layers lined up so easily and there are a million different color combos and themes you can use this for.

I trimmed the candle panel down to 3.25 in x 5.25 in and stamped the “Make a wish and blow out the candles” sentiment from the Party Animals stamp set onto a scrap of white card stock and trimmed it down to fit the width of the candle panel. I grabbed the light green and yellow paper from the new Year Round Dots and Stripes 6×6 Pad and layered them up to play up the fun colors in the candle pattern. I cannot wait to use this stencil again and I think this would be a good one to mass produce in an assembly line method. I hope you are feeling super inspired and thanks for hanging out with me!!
