Hello my love – whole card shaker

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a whole card shaker to share with you today. The main hero of this card is the Polka Hearts Cover Die from Pink and Main’s latest release.

To make this card, I cut a piece of white card using the Polka Hearts Cover die. I popped out all the little hearts and kept them aside. I then ink blended the panel using a gradient from Pink to Purple. I used Distress Oxides for this because I like the full coverage that they give. The bottom layer of the card was a piece of Silver Glitter Paper from Pink and Main. To construct the background, I glued the pink/purple panel to the glitter paper. Once the glue was dry, I moved on with the construction. From this point on, I didn’t use any glue on this card at all, as the plastic warps when the wet glue touches it. I used a piece of soft plastic packaging (exactly the sort that the cover die came in), cut to about half an inch larger than the card on all sides, and wrapped it around, before taping it to the back on three sides. I used washi tape, because that’s what I had nearby, but any sticky tape (yes, that’s what we call it in Australia!) will do. I think it might be called Scotch Tape in other countries???

I then added my shaker sprinkles before taping closed the fourth side of the plastic. To add to the sparkle, I added some Starlight Gems in pale pink to the mix. I like the way these work from both sides, either plain pink, or with the sparkle on the top .Finally, the sentiment was stamped using the My Heart Smile stamp set. I cut this out with scissors, completely forgetting that I had the matching dies!!!! I chose not to colour it, as I thought it might make the card too busy. There’s a lot going on already!

I again used double sided tape to stick this whole panel to the front of a white card base. This was a fun card to make, and even more fun to shake! I hope that you’ve enjoyed this card, and I look forward to sharing with you again really soon.

Until next time,

Blessings

Donna
