Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here from donnaisplayingpaper, back in Japan after some time in Australia catching up with family. I have a pair of cards for you today that have the patterned paper as the hero, no doubt about it.
This fabulous paper pack is called Inked Oasis, and it has so many gorgeous alcohol ink swirls that I wanted to use for today’s cards. In the end, I settled on two – a rich magenta and a soft blue and lilac. I used these to make two mirror image cards. I used a piece of white card stock, and cut a stitched border around it using the Stitched Rectangles 2 dies before cutting a stitched heart with the Double Stitched Hearts dies from the panel. This gave me the raw materials to make two cards from one.
This first card used the the heart itself. From this, I cut the word ‘Hello’ using the Sunshine Word Dies, leaving the background paper to shine through. For both cards, I added the sentiment “have an amazing day’ from the Floral Shells Stamp set, stamped in black, and backed with some more of the swirly ink paper. Of course, I couldn’t resist using the Stitched Rectangles dies on the Inked Oasis paper too!
The second card uses a bright magenta inked paper and the remaining white panel with the heart ‘missing”. I used the letters of the word hello that were cut from the previous card, and mounted all the white elements up with foam tape. The final touch for both cards were some pearls from the Unicorn Pearls Set 2. They were a perfect colour match for both of the cards.
I love it when I can get two cards from one cut, and these cards are no exception. I hope that you have been inspired to be creative today!
Until next time, may your days be full of colour!
Blessings
Donna
