Have a Mice Fall

Hi Friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am in LOVE with this Month’s Stamp of the Month!!!!!!! These little mice are the sweetest stamps ever and I needed to make cards with them immediately. And of course, I couldn’t decide which stamp to use first… so I made a set. I started out by stamping the pumpkin mouse and the latte mouse with alcohol friendly ink. Then I used Copic Markers to color them in, sticking with warm greys for the mice and lots of warm oranges and yellows for their accessories. I added in some white gel pen to the plaid on their ears and dots on their eyes and cheeks. I think this just helps their little personalities stand out more. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and I especially love the little extra gap around the tail of the latte mouse. I love when dies cut out things that I would never try fussy cutting on my own.

I wanted to give them both a fun background but I also really wanted their coloring to pop so I decided to dry emboss white card stock with the Buffalo Plaid 6×6 folder. I love the texture that this gives while still letting the mice shine. I trimmed down both panels an inch both ways (3.25 in x 4.5 in) to give a hefty boarder and added a slightly larger panel of the Coffee Shop Card Stock behind it for a thin mat. I trimmed down two orange papers from the Pumpkin Season 6×6 Paper Pad to be a standard A2 size, 4.25 in x 5.5 in, and added the other panels on top. I added these all to two plain, side fold card bases and then remembered that I needed sentiments. I stamped out the Happy Fall and Hey Pumpkin sentiments onto scrap white card stock with orange ink for a little extra pop and cut them out as close to the letters as I could. I glued them down flat with the images in the center of each card and was so happy I was jumping around my craft area. I felt like these didn’t need any bling or sparkle and so I embraced a more clean and simple look than I usually go for. I hope you are getting inspired for fall crafting and I hope you have an amazing week!!!
