Greetings from the Wild Things

Hello everybody! Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Donna here with a card featuring the Wild things crew.

But, before we get started, are you taking advantage of the Pink and Main Black Friday sale? 30% off, free gifts, all the good things!

Right, now that you’re back from shopping, onto the card…

I think one of the wonderful things about these designs is that that you can colour them with lots of shading, as I usually do, or you can use the  wonderful textural elements to create clean blocks of colour, as I’ve done today. Of course I used the matching dies to cut the images.

For my background, I used washi tape to create the border and the inner boundaries of the rectangles. I’ve included a picture of the process, although this one is slightly different because someone (cough, cough) forgot to take a photo as she was doing the actual card. I used grid paper to help with keeping my lines parallel.

I then blended a couple of shades of blue ink to get some variation in the background. I also blended a small square for the sentiment. I’m always on the lookout for sentiments that use plurals because many of the cards I send are from our whole family. I love this one!

Each of the animals was popped up with foam tape to give the card a bit of dimension. Although each of the animals is a different colour, I tried to repeat colours as much as I could so that the card looked cohesive.

All of this animal fun, and I haven’t even used the main image in the set yet! Stay tuned!

I hope this gives you some ideas for coloured individual images. Sometimes it’s fun to make a scene (take that as you will!) and sometimes it’s good to let everybody shine individually!

Until next time, happy crafting.

Donna
