Future Birthday Wishes – Sneak Peek

Hi friends, it’s sneak peek week again! I am so excited to be sharing a look at one of the new stamp sets and a new die set as well! I instantly fell in love with the new In Your Future set, I think its great for Halloween cards but can also be used year-round. I also love this kind of set because you can really customize the image to look like the recipient if you want. I colored my fortune teller to look like one of my best friends, who has an October birthday. Let’s break down how I made this card.

I started my card with an A2 sized front card panel of Asphalt card stock. After attaching that to a side folding card base, I added a panel of Lakeside card stock measuring 5.25 in x 4 in to create a very thin mat with the black layer. To create a nice spot for my main character, I used the new Stitched Diamonds Die Set to cut out a piece of star pattern paper paper from the Black Tie Party Paper pack and the left over Asphalt card stock. I attached them both with the EZ squeeze liquid glue. I took the banner, sentiment and fortune teller images from the stamp set and stamped with onto coloring paper with an alcohol friendly ink. I used a small acrylic block to stamp the birthday wishes to the center of the crystal ball.

I used copic markers to color in my images and add some very subtle shading to the banner. I decided that I needed to add something extra to fill out the “scene” so I stamped two of the candle sticks and colored them as well. I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out and I attached the candle sticks and fortune teller first. I wish I had thought out my banner placement a little better so that the card didn’t need to be read from the bottom up but I also really like how it turned out so I have no real regrets. I attached the banner with some foam tape to give it dimension and I am really in love with how it card looks. I can’t wait to give it to my friend and I know she will love how much it looks like her!
