Froggy Momma – Love You More

Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I am joining you today with a really sweet card that you can use for many occasions. I have been dying to pull out my Heart Spotlight Cover Die again because it is such a fun way to feature a single image and when I got my hands on the new release, this card immediately created itself in my head.

I started out by die cutting the cover die 3 times, once from a plan chocolate card stock and the other two were with pattern paper from the Bee Kind Paper Pack. I only cut the corner with the heart for the whiter pattern but if you wanted, you could make three different cards by mix and matching the elements from each paper. I used the EZ Squeeze Glue to adhere the brown frame piece to the card base first, and then added in each pattern paper piece like a puzzle. I wanted to use the little froggy pair from the new Love You More Stamp Set so I stamped them out in alcohol friendly ink and colored them in with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out and added it to the heart area of the cover die design.

The last thing to do was add the sentiment and because there was so much pattern going on, I decided that a solid sentiment strip would be the best bet for legibility. I used the new Anti Static Powder Tool to prep my card stock and stamped my sentiment down with the Embossing Watermark Ink Pad. Then I added the Frosting Embossing Powder and melted it with my heat tool until it was shiny. I added a little drop shadow around the letters with a Copic marker to add some extra interest to the card since everything was pretty simple and then added the trimmed strip to the card front. I think this card is great because in my mind, it was a Mother’s Day Card… but it could also be a Father’s Day Card, a card for a grandparent or aunts/uncles etc. I love having good multi purpose cards like this in my stash and I hope this inspires you to get crafting!
