Forever Friends

Hello and happy Wednesday! Katie here today with a special card that makes my heart happy.

I am a huge hummingbird lover as evidenced by the hummingbird tattoo on my arm, the hummingbird henna on my belly when i was pregnant and that I am constantly sitting on my deck, admiring the beauties at the feeders or flowers. So… the new hummingbird stamp set is wonderful and I am so happy to add it to my collection! If you couldn’t guess, that is the primary set I am featuring today and here is my card.

This card features the beautiful Anna’s Hummingbirds that are common in my neck of the woods. The male with his bright throat and the more plainly colored female.

I stamped the images from Sweet Greetings Stamp Set with my Misti on white cardstock using black ink. I colored them with Copics (W7, W5, W3, W1, G16, G17, G29, YG95, YG91, YG11, RV17, RV09). then I colored the feeder, again using Copics (R39, R37, R35, R14, B000, W0, Y13, Y15). I cut them all out using the Coordinating Sweet Greetings Die Set. I added sparkle pen to the birds and the hummingbird just. I set all of those aside to dry and got out another bit of white paper. I used the Bursting Stencil, with my Mini Ergo Blending Brushes and Scattered Straw and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxides to make the pattern. I stamped the sentiment on this from the new KSue Friendship 1 Sentiment set. Next, i used the outside portion of the New Dotted Cover Plate die to created the scalloped outline with a creamsicle colored cardstock. I then mounted all my layers, scalloped on white, stenciled on scalloped and finally the images on he top using foam tape. Lastly, I added some white highlights using a gel pen.

In this image you can see the sparkles much more clearly. I love how these beauties shimmer when you shift the card in the light. So pretty, just like the real ones! I am quite happy with this card and these magical creates and hope you love it too!
