For the Best Dad Ever

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a Father’s Day card with two variations to share today. You might think that the timing is odd, but some countries, including Australia, celebrate Father’s Day on the first Sunday of September, so I’m actually right on time!

The Father stamp that I used to make this card is so clever. It has both the outline of the letters with the leaves, and a solid stamp that allows you to fill in the letters using ink(s).

I first stamped the outline image using a Copic friendly ink, and then lined up the solid lettering stamp. I decided to stamp using an ombré effect, so I used four different blues. Starting at the bottom of the stamp, I inked up about half of the E and R with the darkest blue, then dabbed away a little ink from the top so I wouldn’t get a solid line. I then repeated this stamp with the next three inks, dabbing away a little at the top. I found that the bottom didn’t need any dabbing, as it was blending into a darker colour, and no line showed. .

Once I had stamped the blue letters, I coloured the leaves using green Copic markers. Next I stamped the sentiments using Versafine ink in Onyx Black. This is my favourite ink for this type of sentiment. The other tip that I have is not to press too hard, as the middles of the letters can get filled in with any surplus ink. Better to have a few missing spots and colour them with a black marker!

Two variations of the card

To construct the card, I cut the panel using a Stitched Rectangle die. I also cut a piece of Sparkle Sheet in Barbershop to be slightly larger than my panel. I popped the sentiments up with foam tape, and then adhered the whole panel to a white card base.

The finishing touch was some Enchanted Garden Enamel Shapes which I scattered across the card.

I hope that you are having a wonderful day, and that you get some time to be crafty.

Until next time,

Blessings,

Donna
