Foiled Spring Garden Mini Slimline

Hi friends, this is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and today I am sharing this fun, foiled mini slimline card. With the daffodils starting to bloom in my yard, I wanted to use one of the Wildflowers Foilable Panels to create a fun spring card. I wanted to keep some white space but keep it in balance so I decided early on that I wanted this to be a mini slimline size. I foiled my toner printed panel with the Fairy Wings Green Cheerfoil so that the flower stems and leaves would all be that beautiful rainbow green. I am using a laminator until my Mini Minc comes in so please excuse the little bubbles that left some black toner areas visible.

Once my foiling was done, I used the Stitched Mini Slim Rectangle Dies Set 1 to trim down my panel and then used come copies to add color to my florals. The paper that the foibles are printed on, are not the best for alcohol blending but the areas were so small, I think the colors do pop really well. Because I had pulled the pink into the florals, I grabbed some of the Salon Card Stock and cut it down to 3.5 in x 6 in for my main backer panel. I loved the pink but I also wanted to pull in another color and I thought that the light green tone on tone stripes from the Year Round Dots and Stripes Paper Pack worked so well with the foil color. I trimmed down a piece of the green paper down to be 1.75 in x 6 in and adhered it to the bottom half of my pink panel.

I attached the foiled panel to the card base with a scrap of cardstock added to the back to keep the pink area level with the green on the background. For a sentiment, I decided to heat emboss the Hi from the Sending Happy Mail Stamp set with the Frosting Embossing Powder onto a scrap of the Salon pink card stock. To help it stand out even more from the background, I cut an extra layer of the sentiment die with black card stock and added it to the back a little off set so just a sliver peeks out from the left side. I added it to the lower left corner and then knew that this card definitely needed some sparkle to go with the foil shine. I used some of the light pink Warm Jellies Gems to accent the center of the flowers and I think it brought the whole thing together. Hope this one gets you in the mood for some springy creating!!!
