Finding the perfect embellishment

Hello Pink and Main friends. It’s Donna here, and I have a card for you today that features the most adorable cactus. I love having cards like this in my stash for those times that a friend needs a little encouragement.

Let’s work from the back of the card to the front, shall we? Onto a green card base from my stash I have added a piece of white cardstock, which I first ink blended lightly in hot pink, and then ran through my die cutting machine with the Quatrefoil embossing folder before ink blending again with the same pink this time with a heavier hand. Once the ink blending was done, I added a piece of 1/2″ double sided tape across the panel, removed the top protective paper, and added some Glitter Flock in Sparkling Astroturf. I sprinkled this over, then rubbed it in a little with the tip of my finger before putting the excess back into the jar.

Next, I stamped the sweet cactus and the word hugs from the Prickly Hugs Stamp set in Copic friendly ink, and coloured them in. I matched the ink of the balloon, heart and flower to the background. I then cut these out with the matching Prickly Hugs dies. Yay for not having to hand cut that string, and all the little cactus spikes! I popped these up with foam tape, as well as the other part of the sentiment, ‘sending’, which I heat embossed in white onto black card.

Finally, I got the the embellishments. I was trying to decide whether to use green or pink, when I remembered the Unicorn Pearls( set 2), and sure enough, the perfect embellishments were right there! Pink and Green all in one!

That finished the card, full of fun and texture. I hope that you’ve enjoyed all the different layers and elements that make up this card, Until next time, stay safe.

Blessings,

Donna
