Easy Foiled Songbird Cards | Thinking of You Cards

Hello crafty friends. It’s Lisa Mears (@LisaMearsDesigns) on the blog today sharing two cards I made using some new products in Pink and Main‘s February 2024 release.

I’m using the Pink and Main Songbird stampstencil, and foilable panels to make my cards. All of these products coordinate together. The best part is if you don’t like to color with markers or pencils, you can use the stencil to layer over top of the stamped image or foilable panel to add color with your inks.

If you would like to see these products in action and how I made my cards, then watch my video below or on YouTube.

I started by using the Pink and Main Songbird Foilable Panel. I used my Minc machine along with the Pink and Main Gold Cheerfoil to add the gold foiling to the foilable panel.

I didn’t want the negative foil piece to go unused so I decided to add it to another foilable panel.

I ran this gold piece of foil with the design on it (above) through my Minc machine again using a pink foilable panel from the Pink and Main Garden Toner Sheets. You can see the results of the negative piece of foil on the pink toner sheet in the picture below on the left. Now I have two foiled panels that I can use on two cards.

I lined the Songbird Stencil up with the design on the white/gold foiled panel and then added inks with a shading brush. This shading brush has a very small tip for detailed inking which allows me to have more control over the area I’m adding ink to.

I used the sentiment from the Songbird stamp with gold embossing powder and cut down the sentiment to only use the words “Thinking of You.” I added the panel to pink A2 card base.

For my second card, I die cut the pink and gold foiled panel using a circle die. I layered it on top of a piece of pink cardstock that I cut with a slightly larger circle die.

I added the circle to a plaid white card background that I die cut with the Pink and Main Plaid Cover Die. Keeping the background of the card white really helps the pink and gold circle to “pop” on the card.

I added the Thinking of You sentiment from the Pink and Main Hello Darling stamp and used gold embossing powder so it matches the gold in the foiled panel. I die cut the sentiment with the coordinating dies. I added some foam to the back of the sentiment so it has some dimension on the card. I added some gold gems to the card front.
