Don’t get bent out of shape…

Hello Pink and Main Friends! It’s Donna here. We’re still sitting tight at home here in Victoria, Australia, and I need to remember to not get bent out of shape about it! Luckily, I’m able to get lots of exercise, although I don’t believe that the pose in the photo below is possible just yet!!!!

This card is a testament to the keep trying/ don’t throw it away attitude that you sometimes need for a card. The marbled background took a lot of trial and error before I was happy with it, but in the end, I’m thrilled with it and will try my process again to see if I can reproduce it. I videoed the whole process, and you can see that here. https://youtu.be/giPo8U1Lv6o

The panel for this card is Bristol Smooth paper, which is why it is slightly off white. You can see the contrast with the white base below it. I first masked off a strip on this panel which was just the right size for one of the sweet girls from the Namaste stamp set. It took me several attempts and a few different inkpads to get the colour I was going for. I used my Mini Ergonomic Blender brush for most of the ink blending. I also spattered water, and mostly dried this off before going over it again with more ink.

I originally had chosen a different girl to put on the card, but once I saw where the inkblending was at its best, I chose a girl that would leave the best bits on show. I stamped her in Copic friendly ink, then coloured her using a few Copic markers, along with some pencil blended in the shadow areas. I cut her out with the matching Namaste dies (so grateful to not have cut in to her neck and out again with scissors!) and mounted her with foam tape.

The sentiment comes from the same Namaste Stamp set , and it’s one of many cute and punny sentiments on this set. The finishing touch for the card was some Glitter Enamel dots from the Falling for You set. This is a slightly older set, but it is still available at the moment, and the colours are just perfect for both this card, and for this season.

What a fun card this will be to give to a friend! I hope that you’ve enjoyed it , and that you’re enjoying all the Christmas inspiration at the moment too. I hope to be back with a Christmas card in the very near future. Until then, stay safe, my friends.

Blessings,

Donna
