Cutie Cootie Catcher

Hi Friends! This is Caitlin from Caitlin Annalee Cards and I have a very cute get well soon card to share with you today. There seems to be a bug going around in my area and that really inspired me to create with the Way to Glow Stamp Set.

I have been so excited to use this stamp set and I think its perfect for spring and summer cards. To start out and give myself some guidance, I grabbed the Bee Kind Paper Pad and picked this really sweet springy plaid for my main A2 sized panel. I based all of my color choices off of this pattern and I think that’s a great way to get inspired if something doesn’t just pop in my head. I stamped out two of the fireflies on their own and then stamped the jar and masked the top. I stamped one of the fireflies in the middle of the jar to that he looks like the caught bug.

I colored in all of my images with Copic Markers, matching up my blends to the pattern paper the best that I could. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the images, and when you stamp something inside the jar, you get a freebie with the die cutting. I added some texture to a smaller panel of white card stock (3.5 in x 4.75 in) by running it through my die cut machine with the Grid 6×6 Embossing Folder and then adhered it to the main panel so that there would be a nice wide boarder. I stamped the two smaller sentiments onto a tone on tone polka dot pattern from the same pattern paper back and trimmed them down, adding a fish tail to each. I used the EZ Squeeze Glue to adhere the jar and the sentiment down flat and I used some foam tape to give the two fireflies some dimension. The last step was to add some shine with a few of the colorful pearls from the Essential Pearls in two triangular patterns with colors that coordinate with the plaid background. I hope you are feeling healthy and inspired to get creating!!

adorable! I think the two on the outside are trying to figure out how to get their friend out so they can fly around outside 🙂 He went on a little vacation, but he needs to go home now.
